The VSL is pleased to announce that Vanessa Van Hove (VRC) has agreed to assist the Executive Committee in the newly reintroduced position of “Women’s Representative”. Vanessa has represented British Columbia as a junior and is now an open player who plays in women’s division one while also sparing in men’s division three. Vanessa will be the VSL’s liaison with the women’s divisions and she looks forward to becoming their advocate. Her goals are to increase the number of women playing in the VSL and to ensure that their experience is a positive one.

Vanessa can be reached via email: vanhove.vanessa[at]gmail[dot]com

Welcome back everyone. Just a quick reminder to all captains that if you select a “Default/Guest”, when entering your scores, it is YOUR responsibility to inform the League Coordinator whether or not the match was a true default or not. If someone did spare for your team you must submit their name and ensure they register with Squash BC before they play for your team a second time.

Also, it is the home captain’s responsibility to enter match results as soon as possible. (Ideally the VSL would like all results entered on same night that the match was played.) As the season gets closer to the playoffs captains will be checking the rankings more often and everyone appreciates an updated results page. Be advised that Monday night match results MUST be entered no later than noon on Wednesday and Tuesday night results MUST be entered no later than noon on Thursday. Results entered later than this will become subject to a two (2) point penalty.

Lastly, the VSL would like to ask all captains to properly rank their players on their team roster – you know, 1 through 5. There are some teams that have have every player on their team listed as a “#1” and that’s not  good thing:) Those teams that feel that all players on their team are interchangeable must then rank their team based on the rankings.

Good luck in the rest of the season.
